What are the unwritten rules in human behaviour and how do they become visible in relation with other people and different environments? Dóra Benyó (1989, Budapest, Hungary) stages natural occurring actions in constructed context in order for new elements to become visible and to experience the power of repetition. Being loosely and playfully instructed, the performers become the interpreters of themselves. Dóra Benyó searches for the border between directing and improvisation, movement and frozen imagery. Her work shows a picture of the human as a moving subject materialized in a physical dialogue. 


In her videos she creates “triangle-situations”. What is the relation between an object (the external outside the image, whether is a sound, an image or a thought), the subject (the performers) and the camera (what the spectator sees)? For the exhibition in Sagacity she brings this triangle into play. The video installation shows a directed happening where the spectator becomes the performer. Music, sound and the built stage are elements which will guide their transformation.

Mária-Krisztina Nagy’s (1990, Brasov, Romania) work consists predominantly of a combination of oil painting, pastel drawing and self-generated collage material. Her artistic approach is a form of biography circumscribed within the framework of post-events. Ruins and subverted architectural forms become the interior setting of a fantasy world.


 

“A few years ago, I began walking through the abandoned landscape left to us by the communist industrial utopia. I noticed people   smuggling out the last remains that could be useful in providing daily survival. As days passed by, these architectural residues seemed like the decomposing body of one of the greatest lies.
